Yes. You are a Real Paid Writer. I'm still resting on the faded laurels of my state fellowship and calling myself a Real Paid Writer, so you're definitely an RPW too.

I love those little checks. After a year, they add up to one huge check. So, keep on plugging, I say. And no, you're not a Real Paid Author until you have a Real Book Deal.

Ina, as soon as I'm out of the financial hole I'm in I plan to buy the Gus stories from you. I think you are worth more than six dollars.

Vicky, it is hard to come up with ideas. The usual stuff I write would never fly over there.

Little Cat, thanks for your comments. I don't let myself get excited because then I might be tempted to let myself take a break. Since January's goal is completed early, I'm moving on to February's goal. I'll go find Kathleen's article.

I am impressed though. My six bucks is already in my Paypal account. No waiting until you've earned 100 bucks like Google makes you do.

Good for you! I'm still an unpaid, published author. I need one of those $6 checks to make me feel important.

Congratulations. I used to write for AC a little, and I remember being thrilled to my toenails when I got that first money. I should do it again, but it's really hard of thinking of topics to write about. You go, girl.

Kathleen had an article the other day about Propeller, which she said was a really good place to cross-promote her AC stuff. You might want to check into that. :)

I think we all have to decide how excited we want to get about what we do, you know? AC doesn't HAVE to accept stuff, is my understanding. And there are lots of places out there where they publish things and pay nothing, and are quite picky about what they publish.

If it was me (I've never been able to come up with even a concept for an AC article) I think I'd be glad that I thought of it, and that I carried through with it, and that it was acceptable. The money is a great bonus, if not a large one. As Stephen King says, writers don't just write for money. :)
